Leading Outpatient Treatment Program Serving Albuquerque & Santa Fe, NM

Life Healing Center provides a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults who have been struggling with mental health concerns, trauma, and substance use disorders. Adults who participate in our PHP receive a variety of evidence-based services in a safe and welcoming environment.

Admissions Information

At Life Healing Center, all admissions decisions are made on an individual basis. We thoroughly review each prospective client’s history and needs to ensure that our facility is the best place for them.

In general, our partial hospitalization program (PHP) serves people who meet criteria such as:

  • Adults age 18 and older of all genders
  • All members of the LGBTQ+ community
  • Have a substance use disorder or mental health concern
  • Can fully engage in all aspects of our program
  • Do not require round-the-clock supervision
  • Not a danger to self or others
  • Entering care voluntarily

Our PHP can be an ideal option for adults who need structured step-down support after completing our residential program. We also accept adults who are stepping up from traditional outpatient programming or are entering care for the first time at the PHP level.

In all cases, our admissions decisions are guided by what will best help the client achieve their goals and experience improved quality of life.

Prospective clients can start the admissions process by calling us at any time. A member of our team is available 24/7 to answer all your questions, collect some basic information, and connect you with the care you need.

Features of Our PHP

Adults who enroll in the partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Life Healing Center participate in full days of care seven days per week. A typical day in our PHP includes eight hours of services. Depending on an adult’s specific needs, their care in our PHP may include:

  • Basic medical care
  • Medication management services
  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Experiential therapies

Therapy sessions in our PHP may incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and the principles of the 12-Step recovery model.

Groups are the main means of care at the PHP level. During an average day, PHP clients may take part in three to five group sessions. We offer psychoeducational groups, skill-building groups, process groups, experiential groups, mindfulness groups, and wellness groups.

All services in our PHP are provided by a team of skilled professionals. During a person’s time in this program, they may work with physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), licensed counselors and social workers, and other experts.

Typical length of stay in our PHP is seven to 10 days.

Benefits of Our PHP

All programming at Life Healing Center is designed to address each client’s specific needs. Thus, the benefits of our PHP can vary from person to person depending on their history and goals. However, every person who receives care at the PHP level can benefit from certain fundamental features of this program.

For example, our PHP is a safe, welcoming, and supportive place where all people are treated in a respectful manner. During PHP sessions, clients can find temporary respite from the stress, pressure, and distractions of everyday life. Here, they can focus their full attention on their health.

We understand that people who struggle with mental health concerns and substance use disorders often experience shame, guilt, and a sense of isolation. We’re committed to helping each client rediscover their innate strengths and inherent value.

Our PHP can also introduce clients to the many benefits of shared support. During groups, PHP participants work in active collaboration with the professionals who are leading the sessions and the other clients who are also taking part. Groups are supportive forums where adults can practice healthy communication skills, develop conflict resolution capabilities, and learn from the experiences of others.

The PHP schedule ensures that clients receive significant support, but it also provides ample time for them to practice their developing skills in a real-world environment. When our PHP is not in session, clients can return to their homes, interact with friends and family members, and otherwise engage in a healthy and productive lifestyle. When our PHP is in session, they can process their experiences and receive focused feedback.

Perhaps most importantly, our PHP offers customized support that can empower adults to achieve their individual goals and experience improved quality of life.
