Manager of the Milieu
Nathan’s interest in early intervention and recovery began early as a volunteer with at-risk youth through D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), an education program seeking to prevent use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior.
Quick to recognize his passion for working with at-risk youth, Nathan began volunteering with New Mexico’s Juvenile Drug Court, a specially designed court program that focuses on offenders whose appearances (often repeated) before the criminal justice system are due to an underlying problem with substance abuse. Nathan has been mentoring incarcerated youth through this program since 1998.
His career in behavioral health has included serving as a counselor, supervisor and program director in New Mexico at a sub-acute residential treatment center serving youth, and a mental health treatment center for children and young adults.
When Nathan is not at Life Healing Center, you can find him speaking publicly and volunteering his time with various agencies and gang intervention programs, or on the field as an umpire or coach for Little League Baseball and Softball.
