Equine Therapy (equine-facilitated psychotherapy) is an experiential treatment approach. In the barn setting, equine facilitated therapeutic activities provide powerful tools for building self-awareness and self-esteem, trust, overcoming obstacles/fears, developing appropriate boundaries, and a sense of personal responsibility. Therapeutic interactions incorporate the power of the horse, the clinical skills of the therapist, and the hopes, dreams and challenges of the person working with the horse. The Life Healing Center has a private facility where individual sessions along with Saturday groups take place with the mountain views of the Sandia Mountains. Nature surrounds the Ranch with crystals, birds, cats, gardens, and a Great Pyrenees dog making it a peaceful opportunity for deep healing.
